Accused of manufacture and sale of counterfeit money

Two persons were arrested on the accusation of the manufacture and sale of counterfeit money in the framework of the criminal case investigated by the Investigation Division of Shirak Police.

During the preliminary investigation it turned out that Gyumri resident M. Zilfimyan had come to a prior agreement with the resident of the same town B. Harutyunyan and on 24 May, 2012, they had made copies of 20 000 AMD fake notes with a color printer and on the same day, at about 04:30 p.m., in Aniavan village of Shirak region, at about 07:00 p.m. in Kamo village of Shirak village and at about 07:30 p.m. in Hovit village of Shirak region had bought four lambs and two sheep by paying 4, 2 and 6 20 000 AMD fake notes to the villagers A. Diloyan, H. Hovhannisyan and G. Khachatryan, thus causing material damage to them.

Besides, M. Zilfimyan and B. Harutyunyan confessed and said that they had made 61 fake notes of 5000 AMD note and bought food from the shops of four regions of the Republic of Armenia; 27 notes in Shirak region, 9 notes in Aragatsotn region and the 6 ones in different villages and towns of Armavir region.

The operative-intelligence measures revealed the place and the way of the manufacture of the counterfeit notes.

On 29 May, 2012, M. Zilfimyan and B. Harutyunyan were accused pursuant to the Point 1 of the Part 2 of the Article 178 and Part 2 of the Point 2 of the Article 202 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Armenia and arrested.

At the same time there was a sale of counterfeit money in the territory adjacent to a former livestock complex in Bavra village of Shirak region. It turned out that on 26 May, 2012, at about 07:00 p.m., unknown person had bought 6 sheep from the villager A. Margaryan and paid in10 fake notes of 20 000 AMD note. The Police takes measures to find the mentioned persons.

On 26 May, 2012, a criminal case was initiated in the Shirak Investigation Division of the Police according to the Point 1 of the Part 2 of the Article 178 and Part 2 of the Point 2 of the Article 202 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Armenia.
