Prosecutor General received Deputy Justice Minister and Attorney General of Bavaria

On 2 April 2012 the Prosecutor General of the Republic Armenia Aghvan Hovsepyan had a meeting with the Deputy Justice Minister of Bavaria, Dr. Helmut Palder and Attorney General of Bavaria Dr. Christoph Strötz. H. Palder and Ch. Strötz arrived in Armenia on 31 March on the invitation of the Prosecutor General.
During the meeting the issues on the cooperation between the law enforcement bodies of both countries were discussed by stressing the importance of exchange of experience especially in the struggle against the transnational crimes. The Prosecutor General presented the structure, functions and liabilities of the General Prosecutor's Office of the Republic of Armenia both during the criminal procedures and not only, especially in the sphere of the protection of the state interests. A. Hovsepyan gave details of the experience in responding to the election-related violations during the elections as well as the liabilities and regulations of the Working Group created on the Order of the Prosecutor General which would supervise the registration and discussion of the reports made on election-related violations. The sides also discussed the mechanisms and issues of cooperation with the mass media as well as the steps taken towards providing transparency of the work of the General Prosecutor's Office.
On 3 April the Prime Minister and the Minister of Justice of the Republic of Armenia had meetings with Deputy Justice Minister and Attorney General of Bavaria.
During the visit the delegation of the law enforcement bodies of Bavaria will visit Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin, Khor Virap, Sardarapat, Zvartnots Cathedral, Matenadaran and get acquainted with Armenian history and culture. Today the guests visited Tsitsernakaberd Memorial to pay tribute to Genocide victims. On 5 April the delegation will leave for Germany.
