The RA General Prosecutor’s Office pays special attention to the cases initiated on smuggling and illegal turnover of narcotic drugs
The collegium sitting of the RA General Prosecutor’s Office was held on March 30, 2011 during which the RA Prosecutor General referred to the research conducted on the material preparation, prosecutorial supervision over the preliminary investigation of the criminal cases and the state of charge protection and stated that voluminous works was carried out and is being carried out in the struggle against the smuggling and illegal turnover of narcotic drugs and the growth in the detection is the evidence of the positive work. more ...

Statement on the works conducted in 2010 in the RA General Prosecutor's Office
In 2010, 895 materials on corruption crimes were prepared by the competent authorities of Armenia. The number increased by 124 compared to the previous year. 385 criminal cases were initiated, whereas in 2009 the number was less by 15 cases. In 2009, 771 materials were prepared and completed by the competent authorities of Armenia and 370 criminal cases were initiated on these materials. The increase in the number of the initiated criminal cases is conditioned by the increase in the effectiveness of the prosecutorial supervision in this sphere. more ...

Telman Mkhitaryan was arrested pursuant to the Convention on “Legal aid and legal relations in civil, family and criminal cases”
